In this test, the glove manufacturer produced 10,000 gloves using the same materials, settings, and processes. Throughout the batch, 200 gloves will be randomly removed from the production line and tested on the glove watertight testing equipment. The test method is: each glove is filled with 1000 ml of water at room temperature, fixed on the cuff, and hung vertically for two minutes to check the pinholes. In order to achieve 2.5% AQL, no more than 10 gloves should be disqualified. If more than 10 gloves fail, the entire batch fails, and each glove must be inspected individually in the glove watertight testing machine, or the entire batch will be discarded. An AQL of 1.5% means that there are no more than 7 substandard gloves.
Glove Quality Test Method
EN455 is the European standard for the testing of medical gloves, and the first part of the EN455 standard, EN455-1:2020, regulates the problem of holes in medical gloves. Holes in gloves can expose healthcare workers and patients to harmful substances such as microbes and bodily fluids, leading to potential infection and cross-contamination.
To pass the EN455-1:2020 test, inspection gloves must have an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 1.5 or higher, and surgical gloves must have an acceptable quality level (AQL) of 0.65 or higher.
